WV China Sends Assessment Team to the Most Severely Flooded AP in Southern China
On 13 June, a three-member team has been sent to the most severely flooded areas of Fengshan Township and Pingshan Town, Shicheng County, Jiangxi Province, to conduct rapid needs assessment.
According to initial assessment, in Jiangxi, as of 11 June 2019, 6 deaths and 1 missing have been reported. More than 2 million residents have been affected, over 150,000 residents have sought refuge in emergency resettlement and 81,000 residents are in need of emergency relief.

The Anti-Domestic Voilence Capacity Building Training Held Successfully in Xi'An City
On April 13-14, more than 30 persons from 16 social organizations in Xi'an participated in the Anti-Domestic Violence Capacity Building Training sponsored by World Vision. The training has enhanced the sensitivity and service skills of social organization staff in anti-domestic violence to a certain extent, which would be helpful for building a “Zero Tolerance to Violence” community supporting environment, and pushing the anti-domestic violence work in Shaanxi Province a big step forward.

Three years ago, the Anti-Domestic Violence Law of the People's Republic of China was officially implemented. As China's first special legislation on domestic violence, it clarifies the definition of domestic violence, the primary responsibility of the state and the role of social organization, and also allows the state and society to intervene in traditional "domestic matters".

On December 15, 2018 – first children participation activity on INSPIRE: seven strategies for ending violence against children was held in Wuding County, Yunnan Province. World Vision China’s five year campaign on Ending Domestic Violence Against Children is based on the WHO-led INSPIRE: Seven strategies for ending violence against children. From ensuring the enforcement of child-focused laws, to promoting positive parent-child relationship and providing soci-economic assistance, INSPIRE strategies are based on the best available evidence and represent proven effective approach to ending violence.
It Takes a World to End Violence Against Children Global Campaign Launched in China
November 20 is the United Nations World Children's Day, which is set up to enhance the cohesion of children around the world, raise awareness of children's rights and improve children's welfare. In China, World Vision focuses on ending domestic violence against children, with the goal that girls and boys in China are protected from Domestic Violence and thrive in a positive and caring environment.
Established in 1950, World Vison International is a child-focused relief, development and advocacy organization devoted to serve children, their families and communities in impoverished regions. Currently, World Vision is working in about 100 countries and regions across the world.
In 1993, World Vision China was established to carry out a wide variety of work on poverty alleviation and community development. Since the Law on Administration of Activities of Overseas Nongovernmental Organizations in the Mainland China went into effect in 2017, we have completed registration of eight representative offices in eight province/regions/municipalities to better contribute to China’s poverty alleviation and development through collaboration with government, CSOs and communities.
In 2018, World Vision China worked in 12 provinces/municipalities/regions across China. The funding is supported by World Vision offices worldwide, of which over 60% is raised from the Hong Kong public.
