World Vision Donated Millions of Relief Supplies in Jiangxi Province in 2022

 

World Vision has donated more than RMB 2.8 million of relief supplies in Jiangxi Province since from June to early November, 2022.  

 

At the end of June, World Vision China sent teams to Wuyuan County and Ganxian District of Jiangxi to identify vulnerable households and the needs of children and families affected by floods.

 

In early July, World Vision donated RMB200,000 of relief supplies to Wuyuan County and Ganxian District of Jiangxi in cooperation with local partners. Relief supplies consisted of 1,800 bags of rice (10 kilograms per bag) and 1,800 barrels of cooking oil (4 liters per barrel).

 

After that, World Vision actively applied for the Hong Kong SAR Government's Disaster Relief Fund and distributed a total of RMB2.23 million in relief supplies, including 195 tons of rice and 3,360 boxes of household items, in six severely affected villages and towns in Wuyuan County in early November. When giving Jiangxi Province a total of RMB3.46 million in charitable contributions after the catastrophic floods hit it in 2020, the Hong Kong SAR government is now supporting the catastrophe affected people through World Vision for a second time.

 

 

In addition, World Vision allocated internal emergency relief funds to distribute 3,000 school bags filling with stationery supplies, totaling RMB377,000.00, to the central primary schools in the severely affected villages and towns of Wuyuan County.
