Child friendly space

After an emergency or a disaster, children in disaster-affected areas may lose their homes, have to face the threats of injuries and illness or even lose their loved ones. They will feel some panic, depressed and helpless. In order to relieve their stress and reduce their depression, World Vision has set up “Child Friendly Space” in disaster relief operations around the world. “Child Friendly Space” is a safe and gathering space for children and adolescents based on children’s needs. Through games and daily activities, children would receive proper care, education and protection, which will enhance children’s abilities to deal with the tragedies and losses caused by the disaster and return to their routine as soon as possible. The establishment of “Child Friendly Space” is expected to respond to the specials needs of children in the special circumstances of disaster areas.
